The Rosette Nebula

This is the Rosette Nebula. Also known as Caldwell 49. It is located in the constellation Orion, down and to the left of the star Betelgeuse. It is an emission nebulae, with the reds being hydrogen alpha gas, and the blue is oxygen iii. This nebula is fainter with a magnitude of 9.0. It contains Caldwell 50 which is the star cluster seen toward the center. It is full of many young newer stars.
